The Colombo Commercial High Court issued an Enjoining Order restraining two members of the ‘Jaya Sri’ Musical band from singing, developing and selling 20 popular songs on the two albums ‘Mod Goviya’ and ‘Sundariye’.
The order was issued by Colombo Commercial High Court Judge Priyantha Fernando after considering a complaint filed under the Intellectual Property Act by Jaya Sri Band’s Music Director, Composer and Singer Aruna Lian.
President’s Counsel Wijedasa Rajapaksa appearing for the plaintiff Aruna Lian said that singer and composer Aruna Lian has gifted a number of popular songs to the fans such as ‘Prarthana’, ‘Sudu andumin Sari Muwa Hasarelle’, Adara Lowe Api Hamu Une’,’ Muwa Hasarelle’, etc.
The enjoining order was issued on musicians Rohan Jayalath and Rohitha Jayalath and is effective till December 31.
