Joes and Visakhians head MILO School Swimming C’ships

The reigning champions, St. Joseph’s College and Visakha Vidyalaya, have dominated the Boys and Girls Championships, respectively, as the second day of the five-day MILO-sponsored 48th All Island Schools Age Group Swimming Championships concluded at the Sugathadasa Aquatic Complex yesterday.

St. Joseph’s College, maintaining their stronghold with 17 consecutive titles in the annual competition, emerged as leaders in the boys’ division, amassing an impressive 184 points. They surged ahead of Wattala Lyceum International, who secured 84 points, and St. Peter’s College, taking the third position with 63 points.

In the girls’ division, defending champions Visakha Vidyalaya claimed the top spot on the points table with a commanding 102 points. Gampaha Lyceum International School secured the second position with 78 points, closely followed by Wattala Lyceum International School in third place with 63 points.

The Mixed School Category witnessed the defending champions, Wattala Lyceum International School, showcasing their dominance with 159 points. Gampaha Lyceum International School secured the second position with 93 points, while Stafford International School held the third spot with 52 points.
