Julianage Mangala Ratriya: Global Journey in Ten Tales

A few days ago, the Sinhala short story book Julianage Mangala Ratriya was launched by veteran musician and singer Lucky Deva at the M.J.F. Auditorium, Moratuwa. This book comprises ten short stories that take readers on a journey across ten countries, exploring diverse cultures and climates while elaborating on changes in flora and fauna. The book has been published by Sarasavi Publishers, Nugegoda, and is Lucky Deva’s second successful literary work.

At the launch ceremony, the traditional oil lamp was lit by a few notable individuals. The first copy of the book was ceremonially handed over to distinguished personalities, including Ms. Ajantha Seneviratne, Shivantha Arthasad, Wimal Ketipearachchi, Kamal Dias, Rehana Vettasinghe, Shamenda Peiris, and Eran Wickramaratne. Each of them shared their impressions with the audience, highlighting the unique experiences and cultural richness they found in the ten stories.

The event’s compere Thilini skillfully kept the audience engaged and entertained. Adding to the celebration, there were musical performances by Daya Vitharana and a group of young singers, featuring songs composed and arranged by Lucky Deva.
