JVP shows no respect for our cultural, moral values – New Alliance’s Founder Lanza

Founder of the New Alliance MP Nimal Lanza inquired JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake whether the JVP’s economic development programme involved arranging parades of women without tops from Galle to Colombo, to entice more tourists on Saturday.

Lanza further mentioned that the JVP has also expressed their intention to legalize prostitution under their Government.

Lanza stated that they will lead a continuous protest in front of the JVP party office until JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake retracts these statements.

Lanza said that they will encircle the JVP Headquarters in Battaramulla with women. According to him, the JVP is responsible for the Aragalaya and they show no respect for the cultural and moral values of our society.

The Parliamentarian commenting on JVP’ s allegations over the foreign visits of President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized that the President needs to engage with the international community and Heads of State in order to secure support and overcome the current crisis faced by the country.

Lanza also pointed out that the JVP leader lacks the ability to interact with leaders from other countries. He highlighted that the leader had hidden himself when IMF delegates arrived at their head office in Battaramulla.

Speaking at the inaugural public rally of the New Alliance in Ja Ela on Saturday, Lanza emphasized that those who are currently expressing support for the people on stage were absent during the Easter Sunday attacks and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Parliamentarian announced that they will establish a broader coalition by garnering the backing of more Parliamentarians and political parties.

Lanza further highlighted that it is the first time in history that such a massive crowd has gathered in Ja Ela to ensure the success of a collective programme. He emphasized that the New Alliance does not possess a specific party or symbol, but rather, it is a collaborative effort where everyone comes together to achieve a common goal.

He stated that the New Alliance is committed to avoiding deceitful commitments, instead focusing on a shared agenda that guarantees the nation’s economic progress.

The political trajectory, which has made significant progress thus far, has regressed over the past two years following the assumption of power by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Lanza said he expressed his prior caution to the party regarding the bringing of Gotabaya Rajapaksa in politics, citing his limited understanding of political affairs.

“The country’s professionals and businessmen aspire to empower someone outside Parliament and devoid of political involvement. These experts have recommended President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to prioritize tax reduction as the initial undertaking”, he said.

Lanza stated a professional from this group is currently providing advices to the Opposition Leader.

“This professional has completely ruined our political career spanning three decades”.

Lanza said that GMOA President Dr. Padeniya had managed to persuade the former President that the successful implementation of the organic fertilizer programme would make him a deserving candidate for the Nobel Prize.

“In a written communication, over 156 Parliamentarians informed the former President about the gradual transition towards organic agriculture in the country”.

However, Lanza expressed disappointment as the former President did not pay attention to their request. Lanza further revealed that the professionals surrounding former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had advised him to disregard the politicians’ advice. He mentioned that the nation possesses numerous political parties that are only limited to name boards. “There exist political leaders who do not have the support of the people and they simply conduct press conferences in Colombo,” he said.

Lanza expressed that the New Alliance is currently engaging in negotiations with more than 28 political parties in order to form the strongest alliance ever witnessed in the country.  “We are in discussions with over 60 Members of Parliament,” he disclosed. The Parliamentarian conveyed their intention to entrust the country not to a single leader, but to a leadership council that will guide the nation towards a path of proper economic development.

Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Nalin Fernando and MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa were present.
