When he was in grade four he participated in the skipping team event at the school sports meet and they were victorious and in the following year too they repeated the same performance. Then in 2013 he became the under eleven champion athlete by sweeping the board in 100 metres and first in high jump and long jump respectively and in the following year too he won the 100, High Jump, Long Jump and second in Javelin and in the Divisional Meet he came third in all these events.

Then in 2015 he became the under 13 champion athlete by winning 100 metres, High Jump and Long Jump and in his next year in the under 15 he won the Javelin and High Jump and came second in Long Jump and at the Divisional Meet he became third and his coach and teacher in Charge was Miss. Sakunthala.

When he was in grade nine he represented the volleyball team and won the Divisional and Zonal and at the Provincial they lost .

With these deeds under his belt he was drafted to Vijayaba National school for the grade ten and he was a unanimous choice for the under 18 team and after winning the Divisional, District and Provincial his school took part at the DSI under 18 All Island Tournament and they were the second runner up and after that they could not go further due to Covid 19 and his coach and Master in Charge was Tharaka Rathnaweera.
