In pursuit of a 398-run target, New Zealand managed 327 all-out in 48.5 overs. Daryl Mitchell fought admirably, scoring 134 in 119 balls with 9 fours and 7 sixes. He also contributed to a significant 181-run third-wicket partnership with skipper Kane Williamson, who scored 69 in 73 balls with 9 fours and a six.
Despite their efforts, Indian bowlers staged a strong comeback, sealing the win and advancing to the final.
This marked Daryl Mitchell’s second century against India in this World Cup, following his earlier score of 130 against the same Indian team in their league game at Dharamsala.
