KOICA Volunteer arrives here for WFK Programme

Another Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) volunteer arrived in Sri Lanka on 18th September to continue the KOICA World Friends Korea Programme (WFK) following its resumption in June 2023.

The KOICA volunteer will be dispatched to the Technical College in Beliatta. The targeted field of volunteer engagement has been directed towards Korean Language which will provide expertise and knowledge sharing in the specified field and ultimately lead to career development. The volunteer will be dispatched to his respective partner organisations on 4th November 2024 after the completion of the local adaptation training in Colombo.

This is the second batch of KOICA volunteers that have been deployed towards the partner organisations in 2024, while introducing new focused volunteer fields in alignment with the SDG goals and the Sri Lankan government priorities. Based on the 2023 Demand Survey that was conducted by KOICA, it is evident that there is a pressing need to enhance the technical cooperation through the volunteer programme.
