Following the recent economic crisis faced in the country, there is a massive increase of tourist arrivals and increase demand by them to engage in adventurous sports, for the first time, Sanasa Life Insurance launched a unique insurance cover for adventure sports providers engage in Tandem Para Jumping (where two people, the instructor, and a sportsperson, jump off an airplane together strapped to one another) last week from Koggala Air Force base.

The promotion of adventure sports has been gaining momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. Outdoor and extreme sports are proving to be more and more popular not only among foreign tourists, but locals as well. To cater to the safety of this segment this new insurance policy provides cover for the jumpers from the point of jumping off the airplane in the sky, (Tandem Para Jumping) till the participant lands on the ground safely.

This policy covers the participants from any form of injury or even in the unlikely event of death. “Sanasa Life Insurance recognized the vital role insurance could play in protecting these sportsmen and women during their daring jumps and have introduced this novel insurance policy,” said CEO of Sanasa Life Insurance Ivan Nicolas at the launch of this product.
