Thurstan College Colombo, runner up of the last season, advanced to the final to the second consecutive year of the Under 19 Inter Schools Division One Tier B Limited Overs Cricket tournament.
Thurstan beat St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa by 51 runs in the semi final played at Campbell place yesterday.
Thurstan scored 245 runs in 49.5 overs. Thenuka Devapriya scored 66 runs. Shanikya Deshapriya (33), Kavinda Prabath (32), Vihas Thewmika (27) and Ushan Imesh (19) helped to build their innings. Tharindu Eshan and Demain Prasansana claimed three wickets each.
St. Joseph Vaz bowled out for 194 runs in 45.5 overs. Janith Fernando (49), Dasun Perera (40), Hansa Mihiranga (36) and Tharindu Eshan (22) made good knocks. Duvindu Nishan claimed five wickets for 52 runs and Kavinda Prabath claimed two wickets.
