Elections Commission has informed all the Deputy and Assistant Elections Commissioners to forward election announcement without a new election date being noted, for Local Government bodies under the Local Government Elections Ordinance.
The Election Commission has forwarded the relevant notification to all District Deputy and Assistant Election Commissioners on Wednesday.
The EC has also announced that the documents signed by district election officials should be brought and handed over to the main election office by yesterday (2).
The Election Commission has directed that the list of Local Government bodies of the district where the respective Deputy and Assistant Election Commissioners are on duty should also be included in that document. Considering it as an urgent matter, the announcement had been sent to all Deputy and Assistant Commissioners on the same day itself.
The Election Commission is scheduled to meet today (3) and the documents with the signatures of the election officials without a date are being brought before that.
