The Batticaloa Division Senior Superintendent of Police has interdicted the OIC of the Community Police Division of Vakarai Police Station who had taken liquor without paying from two outlets in Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
This Inspector had taken leave for three days and left the Police Station recently and on September 8 had left home dressed in uniform to report for duty and went to a liquor store in the Trincomalee town and took half a bottle of liquor without paying. Then he came to Batticaloa and went to a liquor store near the Batticaloa bus stand and had taken half a bottle of liquor without paying.
The owners of the liquor shops had complained to a senior Police officer and the OIC of the Community Police Division of Vakarai Police Station had been interdicted following an investigation.
