The Excise Commissioner General has ordered the closure of all licensed retail liquor outlets on 12 and 13 of April 2024, during the Sinhala Hindu New Year.
However, this closure will not affect residential tourists staying in hotels approved by the Tourism Development Authority with a three-star rating or above, and special boutique villas licensed places.
