Majeed to head FSL Elections Committee

Retired High Court Judge U. L. Majeed was appointed Chairman of the Football Sri Lanka (FSL) Elections Committee (EC), which will oversee the FSL Elections, scheduled for January, next year.

Retired High Court Judge Bandula Kumara Atapattu and Retired Senior Government official Siripala Medaveva were appointed as Committee Members of the FSL EC, at a Special General Meeting held at the Sports Ministry.

The EC was appointed by FSL following a hearing at the Court of Appeal with the calling for nominations and other matters related to the FSL Elections to be announced shortly.

A total of 66 football leagues affiliated to FSL are eligible to cast their vote at the upcoming FSL Elections.

FSL is currently under the supervision of the Department of Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports headed by its Director General Amal Edirisuriya.
