A 58-year-old man who allegedly sexually abused a 12-year-old girl who had come to the Galagedara Magistrate’s Court with her mother on the bench in front of the Court’s probation office has been handed over to the Galagedara Police by the probation officers.
After a complaint made by the girl’s mother to the officers of the probation office, probation officers took steps to handover the suspect to the Police.
After recording statements from the girl and her mother regarding the incident, Police have taken steps to present the girl to the Galagedara hospital for a medical examination.
Galagedara Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
