Nittambuwa Police have arrested a young man for videoing on his mobile phone the security arrangements at the Weeragula Police Station where underworld gang leader Makilangamuwe Sanjeewa is being detained.
The arrested young man is being questioned under detention orders.
The 27-year-old man, a resident of Nawalapitiya, has told Police that he is driver by profession. During the examination of his mobile phone, it has been revealed that he had also videotaped the Weeragula Police station.
A senior Police officer said that this person had videotaped the security checkpoints deployed on both sides of the police station and the firearms in the hands of the officers.
The suspect has told police that his wife does not believe him when he tells the places he goes to, so he videotaped these places to show her.
During questioning, this person who drives a three-wheeler had said he had come to the Weeragula Police Station to complain about a road accident.
The Police are conducting further investigations.
