Two persons who arrived on a motorcycle opened fire on a person riding a motorcycle with a T-56 assault rifle in Kotugoda, Seeduwa. He was injured and admitted to the Ragama Hospital as a result of the incident.
Police said that the injured person was a businessman in the same area and he was previously remanded for a drug related offence. His brother is also currently under arrest in connection with a drug racket. The shooters have fled the area and have not yet been arrested.
Negombo Division Crime Investigation Unit, Western Province North Crime Division and Seeduwa Police are conducting further investigations.
