In a social media post, the minister announced that the service would offer passengers a safe and comfortable travel experience, indicating that additional operations are expected to begin in late September.
The route maps released under the Lanka Metro Transit brand outline seven services connecting Colombo with several major suburbs and transport hubs.
The planned routes include:

* CM 02: Millennium City to Colombo Fort
* CM 03: Kadawatha to Makumbura
* CM 04: Dematagoda to Panadura

While the minister indicated that services would expand from late September, an exact commencement date for each route has not been announced.
The maps also do not specify operating frequencies, ticket prices or detailed timetables.
