The Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, said that the country’s health indicators are currently showing excellent values due to the maximum dedication and efforts of the health professionals performing field duties in the free health service operating in Sri Lanka, as well as all health professionals.
The Minister of Health and Mass Media expressed these views during special discussion programs that are being implemented as per the Minister’s idea to continuously hold discussions with all trade unions in the health service to examine the professional problems faced by those professionals and to obtain the views, suggestions and contributions of the trade unions for the advancement of the health service.
The Minister further stated that it is commendable that all professionals in the health sector, maintaining a good understanding among the professions, are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities to the letter. He pointed out that by providing quick solutions to the problems affecting them and acting with mutual understanding, an environment can be created where service can be the primary focus without strikes and protests. The Minister also emphasized that he will not hesitate to take all legal and fair measures to that end.
