The Education Ministry committee appointed to investigate the death of a student who fell from the Lotus Tower in Colombo, visited the international school where she studied on Thursday morning (10) and inquired about the facts. Education Ministry sources said the committee officials met the school management and gathered information regarding the incident.
According to the testimony given by the deceased student’s father during the post-mortem examination, it is also reported that the attention of the committee has been directed to find out whether the student was subjected to ragging and other mental torment at the international school. It is also reported that committee officials have received detailed information about it from the authorities of the international school.
The Education Ministry Committee includes three Additional Education Secretaries and two Education Directors.The committee has planned to submit a report to the Education Secretary in a few days.
