Chief Incumbent of the Eight Temples including the historical Sithulpawwa Rajamaha Viharaya and Adhikarana Sanghanayake of the Southern Province, Most Ven. Metaramba Hemarathana Thera passed away yesterday, while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
The Thera was 83. Born in Agangollawatta in Metaramba, he received his education at Malcom College, Yatagala and was ordained in 1956 under the tutelage of then Chief Incumbent of Yatagala Rajamaha Viharaya, Ven. Illukpitiye Jinarathana Thera. The funeral arrangements will be notified later.
