A motion to establish special Parlimentary Select Committee (PSC) to investigate into the allegations levelled by the programme telecast by the “Channel 4” of Britain on the Easter Sunday suicide bomb attack will be presented to Parliament on Tuesday, October 17.
This decision was taken in the meeting on Parliamentary affairs held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksha last week.
Deputy Secretary General Chaminda Kularatne said Parliament is scheduled to meet next week from October 17 to October 20. The first hour of the proceedings from 9.30 am to 10.30 am every day has been reserved for questions that require oral answers.
Balapitiya Sri Rahularama Purana Viharastha Samanera Akalpa Development Bhikshu Vidyalaya (Incorporation) Bill and Sri Lanka Baptist Association (Incorporation) (Amendment) Bill (Second Reading) are to be considered on October 17.Adjournment Debate to mark the Centenary of the Committee on Public Accounts will be held from 5pm to 5.30pm.
Conferring the Honour of Senior Instructing Attorneys-at-Law Bill (Second Reading) and Regulations under the Judicature Act will be taken for debate on October 18.
Regulations under the Customs Ordinance and three Orders under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act will be taken up for debate on October 19.
Regulations under the Companies Act and Resolution under the Essential Public Services Act will be referred on October 20.
