Motorists travelling along upcountry roads were warned to be on alert due to the prevailing rainy weather.
Nuwara Eliya District Disaster Management Centre said drivers should be careful when on misty and slippery roads that are prone to earth slips and falling rocks.
The centre urges the drivers to pay attention on gear changes to control the vehicles at bends and in hilly areas.
