One person was injured when MP Ali Sabri Raheem’s jeep was involved in an accident yesterday (13).
The accident occurred around 1.30 am, near the 15th Mile Post of the Puttalam – Anuradhapura Road in the Saliyawewa area, when the MP’s jeep collided with a hand tractor driven by its owner, who sustained injuries, while MP Ali Sabri Raheem was unharmed, Saliyawewa police said.
MP Ali Sabri Raheem’s jeep was severely damaged.
The injured owner-driver of the hand tractor has been identified as H.M. Harshana Pradeep, a resident of Upper Puliyankulam area. He has been admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment.
MP Raheem had been traveling towards Anuradhapura, when the MP’s jeep had collided with the rear of the hand tractor travelling in the same direction.
The driver of the MP’s jeep has been arrested by the Saliyawewa Police, who are conducting further investigations into the incident.
