Macksons, Manufacturer’s of Multilac, Macktiles and a building materials conglomerate announced yesterday that a minimum of Rs 5,000 upwards per head salary increase for the entire workforce across the group in keeping with the request by the minister of finance.
On January 3, Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa announced that the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to grant a special allowance of Rs. 5,000 per month to all government employees, starting from January 2022. He stated that government pensioners will also receive this special monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000 while Samurdhi beneficiaries will be provided an additional Rs. 1,000 per month from January 2022.
Shimmer Milfer, CEO of the group said, “ Despite difficult times it is the responsibility of every employer to prioritise the needs of our employees.”
Thereby the Macksons Holding s, entire group salary increases with effect from January 2022 as follows: below 35k: 15%, below 50k : 10%, below 100k : 6% and above 150k : 4%.
