“Muslim community stands in solidarity with the President”

Anuradhapura district Parliamentarian from the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Ishak Rahuman yesterday said that the Muslim community stands in solidarity with the President, even though ACMC leader Rishad Bathiudeen has expressed support for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

He stated that the people are aware of the challenges they faced under the previous regime and that they will not extend their support to any candidate other than President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the forthcoming Presidential Election.

Rahuman added that the people in many parts of the country are ready to support President Wickremesinghe’s victory in the forthcoming Presidential Election.

Speaking at a press conference conducted at the President’s political office in Colombo yesterday, Rahuman added that the ACMC leader has lost public support.

“I extend a challenge to Rishad Bathiudeen to run for election in the Anuradhapurapura district and secure victory in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections,” he said.

Rahuman stated that the people of Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Ampara have made a collective decision to support President Wickremesinghe in order to secure his victory in the forthcoming Presidential Election.

“The President possesses a clear vision and refrains from criticizing other political parties. The SJB and other parties tend to focus on identifying shortcomings, lacking a constructive agenda to advance the nation,” he stated.
