Natasha Dias a netballer par excellence

Netball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Carrom Player and Athlete, member of the School Netball Team which clinched the All Island and the 20 Milo Super Championship 2022 Best Centre Court Player of the tournament and member of the first Asian Netball Championship held in Nepal who was adjudged as the Best Player of the Indian Game Natasha Geethanjali Dias has brought honour and glory to her Alma Mater Holy Family Convent Kurunegala and her motherland with her deeds in the field of Netball.

Natasha who hails from Rathgalle Boyagane was born on 20th March 2004 and admitted to Holy Family Convent Kurunegala in 2010 and she participated in the inter house under eleven and twelve age groups and she did 50 and75 metres and 4×100 relay event for the school inter house sports meets and she won places and when she was under 16 she did 800 and 1500 metres and came second and third places respectively. When she was in grade six her parents Sampath Dias and Disna Kumari Somaratne noticing her forte is Netball she was handed over to the school’s Netball Coach Ananda Wannithileke.

Her first attempt was under 12 Divisional, Zonal and District Tournaments and her team swept the board and became Champion and qualified for the Milo under 12 tournament and they came up to Super Eight and in the following year too they won the same process and her team reached up to Super Sixteen and in 2017 there was no tournament and in the next year too they won all the qualifying tournaments and became the All Island under 15 Milo Champions and in the All Island National Schools Tournament they were the Runner up and in the same year in the under 17 Milo Tournament they were the Runner up and in the under 16 All Island National Schools Tournament they were the Champions.

With all these performances under her belt she was a unanimous choice for the Sri Lanka under 16 schools tour of Nepal for the First South Asian Tournament and Sri Lankan lasses were the champions where five countries participated and Natssha was picked as the Best Player of the Nepal match.

Then in the Senior All Island Dialog National Tournament they came third.

Then in the All Island Super 16 National Milo Championship they were the champions by beating more fancied Musaeus College Colombo and she carried away the Best Centre Court Players Award.
