A team of shuttlers representing the Nationalised Services Badminton Association (NSBA) left for Thailand to take part in the Newlett Open Badminton Championships. The tournament already started and will continue until November 18.
The contingent which has received the blessings of Sri Lanka Badminton as well as the Ministry of Sport consists of four teams which will compete in the Open men’s and women’s events as well as senior men’s and women’s competitions.
The shuttlers who performed well at Nationalised Service Badminton tournament have been selected to take part in this overseas tournament which gives them a big boost. Sri Lanka Badminton President Rohan de Silva said their aim is to develop Badminton in all sectors and Nationalised Service Badminton Association as well as Mercantile Badminton Association and important Schools Badminton Association have very close relationship with SLB to go forward.
