Navy brings seized drugs and weapons ashore after deep-sea operation

Sri Lanka Navy personnel are transporting a stock of narcotics and weapons to shore after they were seized during a special naval operation in deep waters south of Sri Lanka.

The Navy said the haul was taken into custody during a maritime operation conducted in the southern deep-sea region surrounding the island.

According to the Navy, the narcotics and weapons were being transported in two multi-day fishing vessels at the time of the interception.

The seized items are currently being brought to land under naval custody for further investigation and legal proceedings. (Newswire)
