The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has issued landslide warnings to three districts, effective until 10.00 a.m. tomorrow (16).
According to the NBRI, Level‑1 (Yellow) alerts have been issued for the Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas in the Colombo District.
Similar Level‑1 alerts have also been issued for the Dodangoda, Bulathsinhala, Beruwala, Ingiriya, Mathugama, Palindanuwara, and Walallawita Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas in the Kalutara District.
In the Kegalle District, the Warakapola and Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas have likewise been placed under Level‑1 alerts.
Residents in the affected areas have been urged to remain vigilant for earthslips, rockfalls, cracked floors or walls, and falling trees. In the event of any possible disaster, they are advised to evacuate and move to safer locations. (Newswire)
