New Media heads have been appointed to the State-owned Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), Independent Television Network (ITN) and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).
Accordingly, Senior Lecturer and acclaimed film director, Dr. Senesh Dissanaike Bandara, has been appointed as Chairman of the SLRC and well-known Media personality and Senior Lecturer Priyantha Wedamulla has been appointed as Chairman of the ITN. Meanwhile, Senior Lecturer Dr. Uditha Gayashan has been appointed as Chairman of the SLBC.
The new Chairmen received their Appointment letters from Media Minister Vijitha Herath, at the Media Ministry yesterday.
Dr. Senesh Dissanaike Bandara, a film and television Program Director and a Screenwriter, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, and a PhD in Mass Communication.
Dr. Uditha Gayashan is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Drama, Cinema and Television at the University of Kelaniya and a former President of the ‘The National Photographic Art Society.’
Priyantha Wedamulla is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with a BA in Political Science with Specialisation in International Relations; a Masters in Tourism Economics and Hotel Management, and a PhD in Management, and is also a Feature Writer, Journalist, Programme Producer and Director.
