New initiative on the 14th to Cleanse the Country of Corruption and Fraud – Tilvin Silva

On the 14th, a new initiative to cleanse the country of those who have long exploited it through corruption and fraud, will begin, starting from the Parliament and spreading nationwide, said People’s Liberation Front (JVP) Secretary Tilvin Silva.

He made this statement at a public rally held in Kolonnawa, organised in support of Eranga Gunasekara, who is contesting Parliamentary Election (PE) from the Colombo District, under the National People’s Power (NPP).

Silva remarked that during the last Presidential election, opponents questioned how a government could be formed with only 3 Parliamentary seats. Not only did they win that election, but they also established a world-first government with just 2 Ministers, he added. According to him, this election marked the first instance in the country where, after a victory, no opponent faced any form of violence. This approach has won widespread support, giving NPP the confidence to secure victory in the upcoming PE with the help of the people.

He noted that, although the Opposition now tries to portray issues such as coconut and egg shortages as failures of their administration. The public is aware of who cleared coconut lands, sold them, and drove up the price of chicken feed. He asserted that their victory in the Presidential election had also brought a majority in Parliament, allowing them to govern with a minimal Cabinet and make reforms to existing Laws, to extend every possible relief to the people. This, he said, is aimed at rebuilding the nation, not abandoning it halfway.
