The Road Development Authority says that the Golden Gate Kalyani bridge will be closed in three stages due to the necessary renovation work being carried out. According to Road Development Authority, under the first phase, it will be closed today (1) from 9 pm to 6 am on December 4, under the second phase from 9 am on December 8 to 6 am on December 11, and under the third phase from 9 am on December 15 to 6 am on December 18.
The Transport and Highways Ministry requests to use alternative routes during the relevant periods in order to avoid inconvenience to the passengers and traffic. As the construction of the new Kelani Bridge has been completed by now, the contract has reached the stage of re-review for the release of the company. Accordingly, according to the contract, there is a possibility of reorganizing some of its functions through the contracting company. Although the construction can continue to be used without any risk, the renovation works will be carried out according to the provisions of the contract.
