The Cabinet of Ministers has green lighted the proposal to implement the amended water tariff policy and amended water tariff formula from 2025, Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.
He was speaking at a media conference held at the Government Information Department to inform the decisions taken at this week’s Cabinet meeting yesterday.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development Minister to implement the formulated amended water tariff policy and amended water tariff formula from 2025.
The new tariff policy and formula of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board was discussed at the Cabinet Meeting conducted on April 8, 2024 and it has been ordered to forward the new tariff policy and formula inclusion of required amendments having been discussed with all relevant parties.
