Nintavur Kashifi team limited over cricket champs

Kashifi Cricket Team, Nintavur beat Himath Brother’s Cricket Team, Kalmunai in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Ulama Cricket Tournament Champion Trophy-2022’ in the limited overs cricket tournament conducted by Rawla Sports Club, Sammanthurai at the U.L.M.Mohideen Public Playgrounds, Sammanthurai recently.

Sammanthurai Rawla Sports Club President Moulavi A.M.M.Hashib organized the tournament successfully. Altogether12 prominent teams from the region participated. Nintavur Kashifi and Kalmunai Himath Brother’s cricket teams qualified for the final. Due to unfavorable weather the final match was reduced to four overs. Kalmunai Himath Brother’s team, won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 13 runs in their allocated four overs for loss of eight wickets. In reply, Nintavur Kashifi team, reached the victory target in 1.2 overs at the expense of one wicket.

Man of the match award was secured by A.S.Rifthas and man of the series award was secured by M.M.A.Asham of Nintavur Kashifi team and best bowler was M.Mufeeth of Akkaraipattu Habeebiya team . The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of the Sammanthurai

Rawla Sports Club President Moulavi A.M.M.Hashib. Eastern Provincial Council former member and Sammanthurai Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) Member I.L.M.Mahir participated as the chief guest at the award ceremony.

Champions Nintavur Kashifi cricket team were awarded Rs.12,000.00 cash prize and trophy by the chief guest and the runner- up Kalmunai Himath Brothers cricket team was awarded Rs.8,000.00 and trophy.
