The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has got a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Senior Scientist D. D. Bulathsinhala has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the NMRA.
Dr. Vijith Gunasekara who was removed from his position as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of National Medicines Regulatory Authority and recalled to the Ministry of Health based on a decision made by the NMRA Board of Directors, has been replaced by Senior Scientist D.D. Bulathsinhala on a temporary basis.
The new appointment was announced officially at the NMRA board meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama at the NMRA headquarters on Wednesday 8 with nine Board members in attendance.
The Board members present at the meeting included Health Services Director General Dr. Asela Gunawardena and Attorney Manoj Gamage.
