Speaking at the Party Headquarters during the submission of district nominations for the next Parliamentary Election yesterday (9) he further stressed, “In order to rebuild this nation, NPP has presented a highly balanced and strong list of candidates representing women,
Tamil, Muslim communities, and youth from every district for the upcoming general election”
“We have a stronger list than any other party. Importantly, unlike other parties, we have not included corrupt individuals who switch political allegiances.We are committed to presenting a group of selfless individuals who are ready to serve the country without personal gain, free from the corrupt politicians who have damaged the political culture of this nation”, he noted.
Tilvin Silva also stated, “We approach this General Election as the party that won the Presidential Election. The people have placed their trust in us, and we now have a responsibility to deliver on the policy promises we made. To do so, we need a strong presence in parliament. That is our primary goal in this election.”
He further expressed his confidence in contesting the General Election stating, “We are confident that the majority of people will support us, especially given the internal chaos and fragmentation within the opposing parties. More than 30 former Ministers and key figures have decided not to contest in this election, highlighting the disunity and crisis they face. In contrast, we believe this situation presents us with a clear path to victory.”
“We are backed by a group of individuals who are transforming politics from a gamble to voluntary service. We call on the people to help us secure this victory and drive this transformation forward. We plan to submit 10 to 11 district nominations.”
