It is unfortunate that there is no space for the small man in the existing traditional political parties to alleviate the sufferings of the masses. The small man knows well the sufferings of others like him, former Central Provincial Council chairman W.M. Yasamana said.
“In the past 25 years, I tried to serve the small man who was constantly oppressed, but failed because some people pulled me back. Therefore, I decided to join the National People’s Power (NPP) which is dedicated to caring for the masses, and the most suitable person to lead the country is NPP Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Therefore, we should all unite around him.”
Attorney-at-law Yasamana said so at a propaganda rally in Kandalama Dambulla to support the NPP’s Presidential Candidate.
He further said that that there is nepotism in the main parties and the common man can never come forward though these parties.
“At this moment, I saw that the NPP is moving forward in the direction of the people. I saw that if we join with such a force, we can serve the people of this country who are always suffering. There is no nepotism in the NPP. It has a philanthropic philosophy. Its leadership is also seen to create an environment where the needy people who are crushed have their needs fulfilled.
“Indeed, today, the country needs such a vision. Therefore, it is a timely need that we should unite with such popular parties and make way for them to move forward and our activities like this are one of the highest investments we make for the future generations of the country.”
Former Member of Parliament and Provincial Council Member Samantha Vidyaratne also spoke. Gamagedara Dissanayake, the NPP’s Matale district organiser also participated in this event.
