The Sri Dalada Maligawa has officially announced the schedule for the 2026 Kandy Esala Perahera, one of Sri Lanka’s most significant religious and cultural festivals.
According to the official schedule, the First Kumbal Perahera will take place on August 18, with the Kumbal processions continuing until August 22.
The Randoli Perahera will commence on August 23, followed by four consecutive nights of processions. The Grand Randoli Perahera is scheduled for August 27, while the Day Perahera will conclude the festival on August 28.

Third Kumbal Perahera – August 20
Fourth Kumbal Perahera – August 21
Final Kumbal Perahera – August 22
First Randoli Perahera – August 23

Third Randoli Perahera – August 25

Grand Randoli Perahera – August 27
Day Perahera – August 28
The schedule was released by the Media Bureau of the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
