An individual has been injured and hospitalized in a shooting incident at Pathakada area in the Nivithigala police division today, Police said.
According to the police, a 38-year-old resident of the Pathakada area of Dikovita Watta sustained injuries to his leg in the incident and is now receiving medical attention at the Nivithigala Hospital.
It was reported that an unidentified person had fired a shot, and then fled the scene, while the victim was in the backyard of his house with a relative.
Further investigations are being conducted by the police.
