A 74-year-old man was shot dead at a residence on Malini Bulathsinhala Mawatha in Boralesgamuwa on Friday night, police said.
According to preliminary investigations, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the victim while he was at his residence.
Police said a pistol had been used in the shooting, after which the assailants fled the area.
The victim was a resident of the Boralesgamuwa area.
Boralesgamuwa Police have launched further investigations to identify and arrest the suspects. (Newswire)
