One person was killed and two others were hospitalised after a group of contract workers were electrocuted while erecting an electricity pole along Mankada Road in Kadawatha, Police said.
According to Police, the incident occurred this afternoon while the workers were engaged in installing the electricity pole without first disconnecting a high-voltage power line.
Three workers sustained electric shocks during the incident, resulting in the death of one individual, while the other two were admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment. (Newswire)
