Sri Lanka Police have launched a special long distance focused traffic operation in certain selected areas as part of its ongoing countrywide special operation ‘Yukthiya’ to curtail drugs, underworld related crimes and other offensive activities.
According to the Police, the special traffic operation will be in effect for one week that commenced from today (05) and conducted from 10.00 am to 02.00 pm during this period.
Vehicles, including long distance public transport buses leaving from Colombo to remote destinations in other districts, will be inspected on the Colombo – Kandy Road until the Kelaniya University old building and on the Colombo – Negombo Road until the Oliyamulla School in Negombo.
