Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Member of Parliament and National Council member of the National People’s Power (NPP), stated that the opportunity to elect a civilised leader with a clear vision who will bring about social justice is approaching. She mentioned that the chance to appoint a leader who can elevate our country to a civilised state, while making a historic transformation, is drawing closer day by day.
She made these remarks after depositing the nomination fee on Tuesday (6) for National People’s Power candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, for the Presidential Election.
Dr. Amarasuriya further stated, “We deposited the nomination fee today for our Party Leader, comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake. In 48 days, the opportunity will arise for the people of this country to make him the Leader who can uplift the country. We are greatly pleased to be able to represent as participants in this historic moment today.”
Vijitha Herath, Member of Parliament and National Executive Council member of the National People’s Power, said the people are “ready to handover the country to Anura.”
He added, “The majority of this people have been waiting for this day. They are ready to handover the country to Anura, who has a programme to change the political culture and rescue this country from the abyss. The National People’s Power is ready to handover to Anura through the votes of the country’s people. We are giving this message to all the people of this country at this moment.”
