Outdated laws will be amended for country to move forward – Anura

NPP Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that some outdated laws will be amended and the background will be prepared to move the economy forward.

“No matter how much we want to move the country forward, we cannot do it unless we achieve significant growth in the economy,” he stressed.

He said that his government will play a pivotal role in this regard. “You invest, we will ensure its security. Recently, a large number of small and medium scale industries collapsed due to the economic recession in the country,” he said.

The NPP leader was speaking to businessmen at Monarch Imperial Hotel in Thalawathugoda on Tuesday.

“It is very important to restore the business of those who have gained knowledge through experience and have management ability. Therefore, the background is set to reduce the pressure of laws like parate law where one is trapped,” Dissanayake said.

He said that a NPP government hopes to build the necessary human resources for economic goals through education.

Dissanayake said that rapid reforms in education are being made in a way that is suitable for acquiring the most advanced part of the world’s labour market.

“If our businesses are not taken out of the 22 million market in the country, we will not be able to maintain the quality of our products and reduce costs,” the NPP leader said.
