A discussion between Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake and the heads of State and private sector institutions sponsoring the Sri Lanka National Scout Jamboree was held yesterday (06) at the Presidential Secretariat.
The discussion focused on the contributions being made by State institutions supporting the Jamboree, as well as by State and private sector institutions providing financial sponsorship to ensure the successful organisation of the event.
Organised to mark the 115th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, the 11th National Scout Jamboree is scheduled to be held from January 17 to 23, 2027, centred at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium. Preparations are currently underway for the event, which is expected to bring together more than 12,000 local and international Scouts.
Dr. Kumanayake emphasised the importance of supporting the successful organisation of the Scout Jamboree, which represents a significant opportunity for schoolchildren. He noted that, while the Government is providing its fullest support, contributions from the private sector are also essential to the success of the event.
Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, Chief Scout Commissioner Manoj Nanayakkara, International Commissioner and Co-Jamboree Director Dr. Asanka Eriyawa, Assistant Chief Commissioner and Co-Jamboree Director Amil Abeysundara and others participated in the discussion.
