A 38-year-old man has been arrested with more than 12 kilograms of heroin and crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “Ice,” during a raid in Sedawatta, Wellampitiya, police said.
Officers of the Colombo Divisional Crime Division carried out the raid on September 2 and seized 4.17 kilograms of heroin and 8.055 kilograms of Ice from the suspect. Police also recovered Rs. 300,000 suspected to have been earned through drug trafficking.
The suspect is a resident of Sedawatta in Wellampitiya.
Police said further questioning revealed that the drugs had allegedly been supplied to the suspect through a large-scale drug trafficker who is currently overseas.
