The National Dengue Control Programme has reported 35,118 dengue cases so far this year.
Till August 2024, there have been 17 dengue-related deaths.
Nawalapitiya, Harispattuwa, Kolonnawa, and Mahara , Kandy, Gampaha, Colombo, Ratnapura, Galle, Kalutara, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar and ColomboSouth. Maharagama, Biyagama, Gampaha, Wattala, Kurunegala and Chavakachcheri have been identified as high-risk areas for dengue.
