The All Island Novices / Intermediate Table Tennis tournament conducted by the Friendship Table Tennis Club was worked off on September 9 and 10 at S. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia.
Pasindu Basitha of Loyola College and Malshi Ravindya of G.S.M. TT Academy won the men’s and women’s Intermediate titles.
There were around 1200 participants including players, parents, coaches, umpires and officials.

The tournament has been a good opportunity to many young players starting from under 7 categories, who are starting their table tennis as well as Intermediate categories who are emerging to be future stars at national level.
Nishantha Jayaweera – Senior Commissioner of the Inland Revenue dept. , Dr. Tharindra Weerakoon – President of the SLTTA, Isuru Kalhara – Chartered Accountant – SLT Digital Services – SLT Mobitel Group, Daya Samaraweera – Vice President of VTTASL and Nuwan Sampath were present at the awards ceremony.
