Passenger arrested over damage to railway station property

A train passenger accused of damaging property at the Alawwa Railway Station following a train delay has been arrested.

The suspect was apprehended on Friday (19) while travelling on a train scheduled to depart from Alawwa Railway Station.

The incident stems from a disruption reported on Monday (15), when a train suffered a mechanical failure at the station. Railway officials subsequently arranged for another train to push the disabled train forward, resulting in service delays.

A group of passengers expressed their frustration to the station master and the railway staff over the delay. During the incident, the suspect is alleged to have damaged railway property.

Following a complaint lodged by the Alawwa Station Master, the suspect was identified and arrested by Alawwa Police. (Newswire)
