Dear Reader. Two months ago, my mother, Mary Margaret Fernando, aged 87, developed speech problems, memory loss and confusion. Later she was diagnosed with a large tumor in her brain. The Neurologist and the Surgeon recommended immediate surgery, or else she would go into a coma. Therefore, early morning on June 19 surgery was done and the tumor removed successfully after a 3-hour surgery. She was kept in the ICU for 2 days and transferred to the ward on June 22. Already much money has been spent for the surgery and her stay in hospital. She still remains at the hospital. Presently, she is unable to speak or eat and drink and all consumption is by nasal feeding. Her nervous system is not functioning well and her right side is paralyzed. She has been having a salt deficiency issue for the past 5 years.
